CCIC in the Media
  • June 24, 2005 - Megen George interviews CCIC Vice President Sara Whitford about Tuscarora history for NPR affiliate, Public Radio East. CCIC is grateful to Ms. George for taking the initiative to talk a little bit about the Tuscarora, as well as for asking Ms. Whitford to participate. This interesting set of three separate interviews highlights how historians and archaelogists have "dropped the ball" so-to-speak on digging up Tuscarora history-- both literally and figuratively -- which is part of the reason why so few individuals outside of Indian Country know much about the Tuscarora. Other interviewees were Dr. Charles Ewen from East Carolina University and Marilyn Livingston of the Southern Band Tuscarora group out of Bertie County.
