The Tuscaroras - Volumes 1 & 2 by F. Roy Johnson

These wonderful volumes are the best books published so far on old North Carolina Tuscarora history and culture. The Murfreesboro Historical Association was given special permission to reprint Mr. Johnson's books after he passed away, and we are grateful that they have made this project a priority and reprinted the books. In F. Roy Johnson's lifetime, he had his own printing shop and wrote and published all of his own books right there in his own shop.

We are very excited that these books will now be available to the public again for purchase! They are so full of so much wonderful historical information. We are also grateful to the kindness and generosity F. Roy Johnson's widow, Margaret Johnson, has always demonstrated to Coastal Carolina Indian Center by allowing us to put her husband's printing of Chief Elton Greene's Tuscarora Dictionary online.

The Tuscaroras, Volume 2 is ready to be purchased now for $15.00 per copy, plus $3.00 shipping. Volume 1 had been reprinted as well, but there was a technical error with the printing, so they are being redone and should be available soon, also.

If you would like to order a copy, please contact the Murfreesboro Historical Association by phone, mail or e-mail:

(Obviously, remove the "(at)" and replace it with an "@". Hopefully, writing the e-mail address like this will help prevent too much spam from going to the Historical Association e-mail address!)

***Please stay tuned to our website for news of when F. Roy Johnson's two-volume set on the Algonquian tribes of coastal Carolina are reprinted, which is expected sometime next year.***
